Current Projects

  • Arctic BIONET (International Polar Year) – Dr. Curry with Drs. Culp and Baird has started a long-term, pan-Arctic biomonitoring programme for rivers.
  • Thermal Mapping of River Habitat (NSERC, NBWTF, NBETF) – Dr. Curry has started work mapping using infra-red imagery, river temperatures to locate thermal refugia.
  • Benthic Macroinvertebrate Group – The BMG was formalized with the hiring of its first Laboratory Manager, Amanda Valois.
  • Mercury in NB fishes – Working with Dr. Karen Kidd, graduate students are developing models of mercury in fishes of NB lakes.
