David Armanini has obtained his PhD in Environmental Science at the Italian National Research Council - Water Research Institute with a thesis on the implementation of the Water Framework Directive.
He has then spent a visiting period at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology studying the long-term variability of biomonitoring data and then spent two years as a post-doctoral fellow at Environment Canada at Canadian Rivers Institute under the supervision of Dr. Donald Baird. He has been involved in the development of stressor specific diagnostics and innovative reference condition model development. He is now managing director at Prothea, an environmental firm active in the renewable energy and water sector.
He has been recently nominated Science Director at the Canadian Rivers Institute.
