Director's message
2010 marked the end of our first decade of science achievements and the beginning of new opportunities for the Canadian Rivers Institute. So far, the CRI has attracted more than $30M in research dollars, built a state of the art research centre at UNB Saint John, conducted research and influenced policies across Canada and in more than 20 countries, and provided training to more than 1000 students and professionals.
As the CRI approached its 10th anniversary, we recognized the need to prepare for the next decade expanding our network of researchers, expertise, and services. A successful two year strategic planning process has prepared us to move forward, restructured and better placed to address the water priorities of the world.
We have been fortunate to attract to the CRI researchers who are leaders in their fields. Our growing network of researchers, collaborators, partners, and students are continuing their dedication to addressing the water needs of society. The CRI is ready to take on these water challenges that are emerging as the global issues of the future.
As the Director, I am grateful to those that have supported the CRI since its inception and excited about the new members and new directions for the CRI.
Together we are ready to address the priority water needs of society.
