Main areas of interest in the near future are movement patterns of puffins and razorbills breeding on Machias Seal Island, and integrating our burgeoning dataset there with fisheries & oceanographic data to explain recent significant changes in the marine ecosystem that led to the loss of the tern colony in 2006.
At a more fundamental level, explanation of ornamentation in both sexes of sexually monomorphic species such as the puffin is an intriguing challenge.
