Ancient Murrelet seen off MSI shore - first record for New Brunswick!

On 27 May, 2016 Tim Dunn, a visitor to Machias Seal Island, unable to land because of high waves, instead took many photos of birds on the water. On reviewing his pictures he discovered that he has the first ever record of Ancient Murrelet, a small species of auk from the Pacific Ocean!

This is the second record in two years of an auk from the Pacific Ocean, very far from home, following the Tufted Puffin in 2014.
