Missions

The core of PASSC is its research program. Currently we are focussing on research into the following:

  1. Impact cratering on Earth (we are actively researching numerous Canadian impact structures).
  2. Fragmentation and brecciation processes in planetary materials.
  3. Frictional melting processes (including earthquake mechanics).
  4. Shock metamorphism and shock melting processes.
  5. Martian, lunar and asteroid geology, including meteorite studies.
  6. Research and development in subsonic, supersonic and hypersonic impact damage and mitigation technologies.
