The core of PASSC is its research program. Currently we are focussing on research into the following:
- Impact cratering on Earth (we are actively researching numerous Canadian impact structures).
- Fragmentation and brecciation processes in planetary materials.
- Frictional melting processes (including earthquake mechanics).
- Shock metamorphism and shock melting processes.
- Martian, lunar and asteroid geology, including meteorite studies.
- Research and development in subsonic, supersonic and hypersonic impact damage and mitigation technologies.
