Dr. Carmen Gill is the Director of the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research and is cross-appointed as an Associate Professor of Sociology. She is the Director of the Canadian observatory on the justice system response to intimate partner violence. She is presently conducting the evaluation of the Provincial Court – Domestic Violence in Moncton. Her areas of expertise are in the fields of family, social policy, third sector studies, and violence against women. She is involved in different SSHRC funded research projects related to human service delivery by the non-profit sector as well as on the community and justice response to intimate partner violence.

Elizabeth Blaney is presently a research associate at the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research and the coordinator of the Canadian observatory on the justice system's response to intimate partner violence. She is involved in various projects of the MMFC including training police officers, developing evaluation tools for responding to rural women and girls, and projects of the Alliance of Canadian Research Centres on Violence.

She teaches in the areas of family violence issues and women's studies. Her research interests are violence against women, social policy, justice responses to intimate partner violence, and the intersection of child welfare legislation and woman abuse.
