UNB News Release: 09-105
The University of New Brunswick is once again opening its doors to both children and teens for a variety of summer camps throughout July and August.
There are camps available on both the Fredericton and Saint John campuses.
“There are over 30 camps available at UNB Fredericton on an assortment of topics and themes from art, music, sports, and science and engineering,” says Belinda Elliott, manager of marketing and promotions at UNB’s College of Extended Learning.
The camps are offered over the next two months, she adds.
“Not only do the children have a lot of fun learning new things and developing new skills, but the comments we hear most often are about the friendships that are made, and many participants come back year after year,” says Elliott.
There are also more than 18 different camps offered at UNB Saint John this summer that cover engineering, non-competitive and competitive sports and science.
UNB Saint John’s Faculty of Science, Applied Science & Engineering (SASE) as well as the Athletics Department offer a variety of different camps.
"Our summer camp programs are designed to help foster an interest in the sciences and introduce the students to non-competitive sports," says Ruth Shaw, dean of SASE.
"The camps are very hands-on and educational and promote teamwork and cooperation."
