Identifying, assessing and treating male perpetrators and abused women is the topic of a lecture hosted by the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton on Wednesday, Oct. 25.
The presentation will be held at 10 a.m. in Room 107 of the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre. The centre is located at 678 Windsor St. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
Leslie M. Tutty, a professor in the faculty of social work at the University of Calgary, is the guest speaker. Dr. Tutty suggests that, because of the prevalence of violence, every individual, couple and family seeking counselling be assessed for current or historical abuse. She will discuss her approaches to research, treatment and program evaluation.
