UNBF HOSTS ENTREPRENEURSHIP CONFERENCE

Entrepreneurs interested in starting, developing, or growing a business in the information, communications and technology sector will want to attend an upcoming conference at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton.

UNBF’s BMO-International Business and Entrepreneurship Centre is hosting a one-day conference entitled Entrepreneurship and Skills Development on Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Wu Conference Centre, 6 Duffie Dr., UNB Fredericton.

Keynote speakers for the event are Gerry Pond, chairman and CEO of Mariner Partners, Inc. and senior executive with over 37 years of in-depth experience in the fields of telecommunications and information technology; and Don Simmonds, president and CEO of AirIQ Inc.

Various workshops will be delivered throughout the day. Sessions include Pitching to Angel Investors in the ICT sector, a two-part session delivered by David Wiezel of UNB and Marc Maurice, entrepreneur and Angel Investor; and Lessons Learned in the First Nine Years, delivered by Ken Leblanc and Jeremy Demont of PropertyGuys.com

A panel discussion with representatives from Business New Brunswick, Enterprise New Brunswick, the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, Community Business Development Corporation and the Canada New Brunswick Business Service Centre will cap off the day.
