Governor General's Award-winning novelist and short-story writer Greg Hollingshead will read from his latest novel Bedlam on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton.
Mr. Hollingshead teaches at the University of Alberta and is the Director of Writing Programs at the Banff Centre.
In 1995, Mr. Hollingshead won the Governor General's Award for his short story collection, The Roaring Girl. His second novel, The Healer, was shortlisted for the 1998 Giller Prize and in 1999 won the Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize.
The author of two more acclaimed short story collections, Famous Players and White Buick, and a novel Spin Dry, Mr. Hollingshead has also been short-listed for the Commonwealth Writers Prize and the Smithsbooks/Books in Canada First Novel Award. Canadian novelist Elizabeth Hay has described his latest work as having “the slippery lucidity of its subject: knowing madness in a world gone mad.”
