Charlotte County

Charlotte County is located in the southwest corner of the province and marks an historical crossing point into neighbouring Maine and the United States. The county includes the island chain at the entrance to the Bay of Fundy and Passamaquoddy Bay, including Dear Island, Campobello, and Grand Manan.

Charlotte County’s border location made it a focal point of military action during the War of 1812 and the 1866 Fenian Raids.
