The University of New Brunswick has collective bargaining relationships with four different unions, amounting to six separate collective agreements.
Negotiations are a routine part of the life cycle of collective agreements. Almost all universities across Canada have collective agreements with their faculty and/or staff and, at any given time, at least one is engaged in a collective bargaining process. This web page is a central hub to facilitate awareness and understanding of the collective bargaining process at UNB. It provides answers to frequently asked questions and, as various bargaining processes become active, status updates will be made available here as well. UNB encourages you to stay informed by checking this website regularly.
UNB is currently engaged in bargaining with its three academic groups:
- AUNBT Group 2 (contract academic employees) – April 30, 2013
- UGSW-PSAC (graduate student teaching assistants and research assistants) – April 30, 2013
- AUNBT Group 1 (full-time faculty) – June 30, 2013
- UNB has received Notice To Bargain from the Professional and Technical Staff Union
