Setup Wireless

Setup myUNB WiFi as your primary wireless network.


  1. Navigate to 'Settings'.
  2. Ensure that Wi-Fi is turned ON then click 'Wi-Fi'.

  3. From the list of wireless networks, select 'myUNB WiFi'.
  4. In the Identity field, enter your UNB Login ID.

  5. Leave the Anonymous identity field blank.
  6. Enter your UNB Password in the Password field then click 'Connect'.

If you are unable to connect using just your UNB login ID and Password, enter the following information:

  • User name: 'YourUNBloginID' (ex:
  • Server:
  • Port: 443
  • Security type: SSL/TLS

Setup myUNB WiFi as your primary wireless network

Note: These instructions are not specific to myUNB WiFi can be used to setup any network (ex: home, etc.) as your primary wireless network. Simply follow the instructions replacing 'myUNB WiFi' with the name of the network you want as your default.

Android devices attempt to connect to available networks in alphabetical order. To ensure myUNB WiFi is the strongest network in range while on-campus, remove eduroam, guestUNB WiFi and Setup-myUNB WiFi from the list of available networks:

  1. Tap the Menu button and select System Settings/Settings.
  2. Tap Wireless and Network or Wi-Fi/Wi-Fi Settings (depending on your Android version).
  3. Press and hold the listed network you want to forget.
  4. Tap Forget Network.

You can also reconfigure your device to no longer connect in alphabetical order by using a third-party app such as the free WiFi Connection Manager app.
