Setup Wireless

Have you heard? This summer, ITS and ISS are upgrading UNB’s wireless (Wi-Fi) equipment to make Wi-Fi at UNB faster and more reliable. At the same time, we’re switching from the myUNB WiFi network name to eduroam, giving you Wi-Fi access at UNB as well as other universities and institutions around the world. Learn more.

If you need help connecting to Wi-Fi on your computer, please contact the IT Service Desk.

For personal computers:

Instructions:

  1. Open your 'Wi-fi' networks list and select eduroam.
  2. A message may appear asking you if you want to continue to connect. Choose 'Connect.'
  3. Connect using your:
    • ‘UNBloginID@unb.ca’ (ex: jdoe@unb.ca) - don’t forget the ‘@unb.ca’
    • UNB password

If you are unable to connect using the method above, it is recommended that you contact the IT Service Desk for assistance to connect to eduroam.  To connect to eduroam a manual connection may be required.

For UNB-Owned computers:

Note: If you have previously connected to the eduroam network, upon re-start you will need to enter your UNB credentials when prompted.

Instructions:

  1. Re-start your computer.  You may receive a message stating that additional details are needed to connect to eduroam.

  2. Open your 'Wi-fi' networks list and select eduroam
    Select the eduroam network from your list of wireless networks
  3. Connect using your:
    • ‘UNBloginID@unb.ca’ (ex: jdoe@unb.ca) - don’t forget the ‘@unb.ca’
    • UNB password
      Enter your UNB ID using @unb.ca and password when prompted
  4. Your device should now be connected to eduroam.
