Checking for Service Pack 2:
If your computer is running Windows XP and you are unsure if you have Service Pack 2 (or greater) installed, please follow the instructions below.
Step 1 - Check for Service Pack 2
- Windows XP on your computer must have the software necessary to
use Wireless Protected Access (WPA). If Service Pack 2 is installed on
your computer, then you have the required software. To check to see if
you have Service Pack 2, do the following:
- Right-click the 'My Computer' icon on your desktop
- Choose 'Properties' to display the 'System Properties' dialog box
- If Service Pack 2 is included in your system description, then you can proceed to step 3.
- If you do not yet have Service Pack 2, you can choose to install it, or install the WPA update described next in step. If you wish to install Service Pack 2, click here for instructions on how to download and install it. Once installed, you can then proceed to step 3.

Step 2 - If Service Pack 2 is not installed, install Wireless Protected Access update
- If you do not have Service Pack 2 installed, and do not wish to install it at this time, you must download and install a Windows update from Microsoft in order to enable WPA on your system. Click here for instructions on how to download and install this update.
