Setup Wireless (Wi-Fi)

Have you heard? This summer, ITS and ISS are upgrading UNB’s wireless (Wi-Fi) equipment to make Wi-Fi at UNB faster and more reliable. At the same time, we’re switching from the myUNB WiFi network name to eduroam, giving you Wi-Fi access at UNB as well as other universities and institutions around the world. Learn more.

Connect to UNB’s new Wi-Fi (eduroam)

If you need help setting up Wi-Fi on your device, please contact the IT Service Desk.

1. If you have previously connected to myUNB WiFi or eduroam, forget them from your device’s list of available networks:

  • Select the 'WiFi' symbol along the top menu bar and click on 'Open Network Preferences' at the bottom of the drop down menu.
  • Click on 'WiFi' in the menu on the left and click 'Advanced' located at the bottom right of the pop-up window.
  • Select the WiFi network you want to delete, and click the minus sign as indicated in the image below. Click OK.

Open 'Advanced' Wifi settings. Select the wifi network and click on the '-' sign.

2. Select eduroam from your device’s list of available networks.

3. Connect using your:

  • ‘UNBloginID@unb.ca’ (ex: jdoe@unb.ca) - don’t forget the ‘@unb.ca’
  • UNB password

Enter your UNB ID (including @unb.ca) and password

4. Click 'Continue' or 'Connect' to accept the certificate when prompted.

Click 'Continue' to accept the certificate.

5. Depending on your personal settings, another window may appear. In this one, enter your local computer account user name and password, then click 'Update Settings'.

If prompted, enter your local computer account login and password.

If you are unsure what your local computer account user name and password are, please contact the IT Service Desk or your Level 1.
