Enabling mobile technology

The UNB Mobility Centre provides advice on wireless communications technologies and helps faculty and staff acquire wireless devices such as cell phones, smartphones, tablets and turbo sticks, as well as provides advice on available plans and services.

Our partner

TELUS is the official wireless carrier for the University of New Brunswick and provides wireless voice and data services for cellphones, smartphones, tablets and data devices for UNB.

TELUS was the successful proponent on a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) process and has a three-year tender with UNB. UNB is under legal obligation to adhere to this tender; all UNB owned devices must be purchased through ITS Procurement.

Service plans offered to UNB by TELUS include:

  • Unlimited National Voice and Text
  • Unlimited Text Messaging (includes received photos and videos)
  • Voicemail
  • Caller ID
  • Conference Calling
  • Call Waiting
  • Reduced US Voice roaming
  • A range from 1 GB to 5 GB of data available
  • Pool/share available data to reduce or eliminate costs if accidental overage occurs

GBS is our local TELUS partner. GBS representatives assist with device ordering, troubleshooting device issues and also help with one-on-one training sessions.
