Servicing Telephones on Campus at UNBF

What services are provided by ITS?

The ITS Telecom Office will process all requests  regarding repairs, additions, changes and  cancellations of service, including account changes, billing issues and general enquiries.  UNB owns all single-line phones on the Fredericton campus.

  • UNB ITS will attempt to repair all single line telephone sets. When repairs are not possible the phone will be replaced and the cost charged to the department.
  • Replacement phones may not be the same model as the original phone but will have equivalent features. All multi-line phones (eg: receptionist phone) on the Fredericton Campus are leased from Aliant Telecom and are covered under Aliant Repair.
  • Phones under maintenance will normally be serviced within 1-2 working day of making a service request

All service requests are to be submitted using the telephone request Form.

Note: Phone repair services are not available outside of normal business hours. In an emergency where no other phone is available contact UNB Security and Traffic from an emergency station.

UNB-Purchased Phones:
Repairs will be attempted using available repair parts at no charge to the user. If the phone is beyond repair, it will be replaced with a phone from the approved list and the user's account will be charged the cost of the phone.

Phones purchased from another vendor:
These phones should be returned to the vendor where it may be covered under warranty, or repaired at a charge. Service requests to the Telecom office for unsupported phones will be addressed by replacing the phone with an approved model and the department charged for the cost.
