Setup Wireless (Wi-Fi)

Have you heard? This summer, ITS and ISS are upgrading UNB’s wireless (Wi-Fi) equipment to make Wi-Fi at UNB faster and more reliable. At the same time, we’re switching from the myUNB WiFi network name to eduroam, giving you Wi-Fi access at UNB as well as other universities and institutions around the world. Learn more.

Connect to UNB’s new Wi-Fi (eduroam)

If you need help setting up Wi-Fi on your device, please contact the IT Service Desk.

1. If you have previously connected to myUNB WiFi or eduroam, forget them from your device’s list of available networks:

  • Navigate to 'Settings'.
  • Ensure that Wi-Fi is turned 'ON' then click 'Wi-Fi'.
  • Tap on eduroam or MyUNB Wifi and click 'Forget'.

2. In the 'Wi-Fi' screen, select eduroam from the list of available wireless networks.

3. The 'EAP method' should be set to "PEAP". Set 'Phase 2 authentication' to "None." Depending on your Android version, your 'CA certificate' should be set to "unspecified" or "Do not validate."

4. Enter the following information:

  • In the Identity field, enter your UNB Login ID @ UNB.CA (don't forget unb.ca)
  • Leave the Anonymous Identity blank
  • Enter your UNB password
  • Select Auto-reconnect

6. Click 'Connect'.  Your device should now be connected to eduroam.
