Setup Wireless (Wi-Fi)

Have you heard? This summer, ITS and ISS are upgrading UNB’s wireless (Wi-Fi) equipment to make Wi-Fi at UNB faster and more reliable. At the same time, we’re switching from the myUNB WiFi network name to eduroam, giving you Wi-Fi access at UNB as well as other universities and institutions around the world. Learn more.

Connect to UNB’s new Wi-Fi (eduroam)

If you need help setting up Wi-Fi on your device, please contact the IT Service Desk.

1. If you have previously connected to myUNB WiFi or eduroam, forget them from your device’s list of available networks:

  • Open your 'Wi-fi' networks list using the 'Wi-fi' icon in the bottom right corner of your screen.

  • Click on 'Network Settings'. A new window will appear.
  • Click 'Manage known networks.' A listing of all wi-fi network you have used will appear. Click on myUNB Wifi or eduroam. Two new buttons will appear. Click 'Forget.'

2. Open your 'Wi-fi' networks list  and select eduroam.

3. A message may appear asking you if you want to continue to connect. Choose 'Connect.'

Click 'Connect'

4. Connect using your:

  • ‘UNBloginID@unb.ca’ (ex: jdoe@unb.ca) - don’t forget the ‘@unb.ca’
  • UNB password

Enter your UNB ID (including @unb.ca) and password

5.Your device should now be connected to eduroam.

If you have trouble connecting:

1. Go to your computer lock screen by opening the Start menu, hovering over your user icon, and choosing 'Lock.'

2. Go to the Windows sign in screen by holding down 'Control-Alt-Delete'. 

3. Click on the 'Wi-fi' icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. A list of the available wifi networks should appear.

4. Click eduroam. When prompted, choose to continue connecting by clicking 'Connect' and enter your ‘UNBloginID@unb.ca’ and password.
