Setup Wireless

Setup myUNB WiFi as your primary wireless network.

Instructions:

  1. Click the Apple logo in the top left hand corner of the screen then select 'System Preferences'.

  2. Under Internet & Wireless, click 'Network'.

    Under Internet & Wireless, click 'Network'.
  3. In the left-hand pane, click 'Wi-Fi'. In the Network Name drop down menu select 'myUNB WiFi'.

    In the left-hand pane, click 'Wi-Fi'. In the Network Name drop down menu select 'myUNB Wifi'.
  4. In the window that appears, enter your UNB Login ID and Password, and then click 'Join'. NOTE: If you are connecting from a UNB owned computer, you may not be prompted for your Login ID and Password.

    Enter your UNB Login ID and Password then click 'Join'.
  5. A Verify Certificate window will appear; click 'Continue'.

  6. In the window that appears, enter your local computer account User Name and Password, then click 'Update Settings'.

  7. You should now be connected to myUNB WiFi.

Setup myUNB WiFi as your primary wireless network

Note: These instructions are not specific to myUNB WiFi and can be used to setup any network (ex: home, etc.) as your primary wireless network. Simply follow the instructions replacing 'myUNB WiFi' with the name of the network you want as your default.

  1. Go to System Preferences >Network >WiFi/Airport.
  2. Click Advanced, and make certain you are on the WiFi or Airport tab.
  3. Select eduroam, guestUNB WiFi and Setup-myUNB WiFi and click the ‘-’ button at the bottom-left of the window to remove these networks from the list.
  4. Click and hold myUNB WiFi and drag it to the top of the list.
  5. OS X will now attempt to connect to myUNB WiFi before all other wireless networks, and should not connect to eduroam, guestUNB WiFi or Setup-myUNB WiFi without prompting.
