Switch to UNB’s New Wireless – October 7
Over the past summer, ITS (Fredericton) and ISS (Saint John) have replaced each and every wireless access point and controller on both campuses with brand new, upgraded equipment. If you are connected to UNB’s wireless network you are already seeing improvements in speed, capacity and coverage.
However, there is one last step that YOU need to do to complete the move to the new environment.

What do you need to do?
Starting this Monday, October 7, you need to switch your wireless connection from Wireless@UNB to myUNB WiFi. For those located on the Saint John campus you may already be connected to myUNB Wifi, if not, please switch now.
How do you switch to myUNB WiFi?
Connecting to myUNB WiFi is easy but if you need some help, instructions will be made available on the ITS website after 4 p.m. on October 6 and can be found at www.unb.ca/its and click either the ‘Setup Phone/Tablet’ or ‘Setup Desktop/Laptop’ links.
How long do I have to switch?
To give you time to transition to the new wireless name, Wireless@UNB will remain active until October 23, at which point it will be removed.
When are Bathurst and Moncton getting the new wireless?
The Bathurst campus will also have myUNB WiFi available to them on October 7. The Moncton campus will have myUNB WiFi available to them in their new location.
What else is changing?
Below is a complete list of the changes to UNB’s wireless names:
- myUNB WiFi (replaces Wireless@UNB)
- guestUNB WiFi (replaces Guest@UNB)
- Setup-myUNB WiFi (replaces Quickstart@UNB)
- eduroam (remains the same)
- STU@HIL (remains the same) – switching to eduroam January 1
