UNB IT Maintenance Windows

Information Technology Services (ITS) strives to schedule IT maintenance activities at times with the lowest impact to the university community.  ITS schedules all non-emergency IT maintenance activities during the pre-determined times as outlined below.  These times have been approved by the President's Office, University Management Council, Deans and Directors at UNB.

Regular maintenance is important to continue to provide the university community with quality IT services. After discussions with various departments on both the Fredericton and Saint John campuses, ITS has been able to identify the best times to schedule regular IT maintenance windows at UNB.

Benefits of Maintenance Windows

Having regularly scheduled maintenance windows provides many benefits to the university community. Some of these benefits are:

  • Reduces emergency IT outages due to preventative maintenance activities
  • Reduces length of average outage time due to regular maintenance activities
  • Improves reliability and performance of IT services and systems
  • Allows faculty, staff and students to better plan their activities that may coincide with scheduled maintenance windows

UNB IT Maintenance Windows

A maintenance window may not always have maintenance activities scheduled for the full window time or there may not be maintenance activities scheduled at all; however, if non-emergency maintenance is required, it will occur during one of the identified windows below.

Please note that emergency IT issues may arise that could require maintenance activities to occur outside of these windows. During emergency IT maintenance situations, up-to-date information will be posted on the ITS website. If time permits, a notice will also be distributed to the university community through the appropriate UNB eNewsletters.
