World-class education; East Coast living
The University of New Brunswick (UNB) was established in 1785 and is Canada’s oldest English speaking university. UNB is one of Canada’s most comprehensive universities, where students can choose from over 60 undergraduate and graduate level programs. Students can also learn English at UNB.
UNB is a community of scholars, students, and leaders. We place a high value on international classrooms and perspectives. International students from over 70 countries make up almost 12% of UNB’s student population.
Life on Canada’s east coast
UNB invites you to come experience Canada’s beautiful East Coast, where the cost of living is low and the quality of life is very high. Known for its friendly people and its emphasis on community, New Brunswick is an ideal place for students seeking a world-class education in a small, secure, and culturally vibrant part of Canada.
One university, two cities
At UNB, you can choose between two beautiful, distinctly different campuses. The Fredericton campus is located in New Brunswick’s capital city, while the Saint John campus is located in the province’s largest city. Fredericton and Saint John are both safe, clean environments in which to study, work, and play.
Work while – and after – you study
International students can work on or off campus for up to 20 hours per week while they are registered as full-time students. (Students must first complete 6 months of study and then apply for an open work permit.)
UNB graduates can remain in New Brunswick to work for up to three years after completing their degree, as long as the job is within the student’s field of study.
