Application Process

There are 6 simple parts to the WATER application process.

The first step of being accepted to your respective institution's graduate program must be completed as per the instructions of the institution you are applying to attend and is outside of the WATER program.

Steps 2-3 are forms that are submitted online directly (for each WATER applicant both a supervisor and a candidate application form need to be submitted.).

Steps 4-6 can be submitted via email to the WATER Program Coordinator

For students/post-docs that are interested in applying and have not yet identified a potential supervisor, please visit the Program Director and Co-applicants pages to read more about their backgrounds and contact them before starting the application process. Also, if you have identified a non-WATER researcher that would like to work as a co-supervisor with any of the WATER researchers, please contact them before starting this application process.

1. All graduate students must also apply and be accepted into the Graduate Program at their respective institutions (UNB, UPEI, U Waterloo, INRS, or Wilfrid Laurier University). This application process is unique to each institution and may take weeks to process so prospective students should start the process as early as they can.

3. Candidate Application Form - to be filled out by the candidate themselves

4. Candidate CV

5. Candidate transcript (academic standing is important and applicants should have a minimum of A-, 80%, or a GPA of 3.6/4.3 scale 3.4/4.0 scale)

PhD level applicants - undergraduate + Masters transcripts
Post-doctoral applicants - Masters (if applicable) and PhD level transcripts
