UNB Saint John Discovery programs

The Discovery summer program lays a solid foundation for future academic achievement in an atmosphere where youth feel inspired to dream big and embrace their unique abilities by creating a friendly and inclusive environment.

In our summer camp, learning turns into a thrilling adventure. We provide a variety of hands-on workshops and interactive activities on a range of topics. Campers actively participate in the learning process, igniting their interest and enhancing their knowledge through practical experiments and creative projects.

Summer discovery activities

During the school year, Discovery is looking at offering after-school programs and activities run by UNB student instructors, along with guest professors from various disciplines. These programs will be designed to help youth in grades 6-7-8, and 9-10 to develop an ability or interest, introducing them to important life skills like leadership, teamwork, and educational programs.

Currently, we are developing this program to run two to three programs weekly, one night a week for eight weeks (6:30 - 8 p.m., October to November), at the university campus, with two instructors for ten youths.

UNB Saint John professors are available to come and speak in elementary and high school classrooms around Saint John and the surrounding area. Local teachers are encouraged to contact discovery@unb.ca to find out which professors are available and which programs they can address.
