In the Pension Plan's Statement of Investment Policies and Goals, there are two investment objectives assigned to the Plan's investment managers. The first investment objective is to obtain a real rate of return on the Plan's assets of 3.75% after inflation and investment-related expenses. This is the rate of return assumed by the Plan's actuary in the actuarial valuation of the Plan for the purpose of determining the appropriate level of contributions from members and the University. The following table displays historical rates of return since inception.
