About the Board of Trustees
Pension Board of Trustees
The Pension Board of Trustees operates within the authority conferred to it by the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) and the University of New Brunswick (UNB). This authority is set forth in the Pension Plan document, the Trust Agreement between AUNBT and UNB, and the legislation and regulations issued under the Pension Benefits Act of the Province of New Brunswick and the Income Tax Act of Canada.
The Pension Board is composed of ten trustees. Four trustees and one alternate trustee are appointed by the University's Board of Governors. Four trustees and one alternate trustee are appointed by the AUNBT. The Board also draws on the services of two benefits support staff from the University's Human Resources department, in addition to various professional advisors and consultants.
