The Financial Coordinator provides budgetary and administrative support for the Dean. The Financial Coordinator is responsible for budgeting, maintaining and monitoring all financial accounts for Fredericton, Moncton, Humber and Fredericton Downtown Community Health Clinic as well as performing day to day transaction and expenditure requests for all four sites.
Representative Responsibilities
·    Collaborate with the Dean in preparation and submission of annual operating budget. Portfolio contact and envelope contact for budgetary process for Fredericton and Moncton units and envelope Manager for Humber.
·    Prepare proposals including one-time priority funding, non-space, A&R & student tech fee funding.
·    Liaise with outside agencies and companies regarding billings. Requests external invoices.
·    Meet with Resource, Planning and Budgeting to review final closing entries and allocation of resources.
·    Maintain and monitor Faculty of Nursing operational budgets throughout the fiscal year.
·    Make recommendations, implement, monitor, and document all Faculty transactions to adhere to UNB fiscal policies.
·    Assist faculty members with submitting travel claims, personal reimbursement, PDA requests, advances and cheque req.
·    Oversee purchase of computers, equipment, furniture and supplies in accordance with UNB procurement policy.
·    Prepare financial reports annually and on an interim basis as required. Present financial reports to faculty as requested.
·    Provide financial analysis and interpretation and make recommendations based on analysis.
·    Ensure compliance with all UNB systems, policies and procedures related to finances as well as those of outside funding organizations.
·    Perform day to day financial transactions for Fredericton, Moncton, Humber and Fredericton Downtown Community Clinic.
·    Reconcile and monitor all salaries – including tracking of clinical costs.
·    Disbursement and replenishment of petty cash, making bank deposits and using procurement card for eligible purchases.
·    Prepare forms and contracts in consultation with HR regarding new hires, renewal of contracts, salary changes and other HR issues as required.
·    University degree-Business Administration with emphasis on Accounting. CGA/CMA would be an asset.
·    5 years related experience. Knowledge of University financial environment would be an asset.
·    Demonstrable skills with Microsoft Office Suite and exceptional skills with Microsoft Excel.
·    Good communication skills-both written and orally.
·    Ability to work independently, accurately, and responsibly with minimal supervision.
·    Ability to understand, track, reconcile and manipulate numbers.
·    Attention to detail and high level of confidentiality and integrity.
·    Good computer skills particularly in area of spreadsheets, databases and word processing.
·    Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
·    Ability to manage large amounts of diverse accounting materials and fiscal information.
·    Ability to supervise, guide and train other individuals with financial responsibility.
