Function

The SharePoint Developer provides subject matter expertise on the SharePoint development platform; designs development logic and system integration approaches within the SharePoint environment; develops SharePoint sites, templates, custom solutions and fulfills approved development enhancement requests and tests SharePoint solutions for quality assurance.
Representative Responsibilities
·    Develop sites, templates, custom solutions and fulfill approved development enhancement requests by using SharePoint development tools and using out-of-the-box functionality when possible, following designs, applying development standards and documenting code.
·    Design reusable and flexible development logic and system integration approaches by using requirements to guide designs, researching out-of-the-box design solutions if available, apply design, service and technical standards as appropriate and identify and report any unexpected technical consequences of designs.
·    Provide subject matter expertise on the SharePoint development platform by staying current with SharePoint out-of-the-box functionality, development techniques and tools. Understanding the SharePoint environment and its limitations, ensuring development requirements are understood including integration requirements, ensuring applicable UNB and SharePoint standards and technical limitations are considered, advising on feasibility of proposed solutions on SharePoint platform and provide work effort estimates.
·    Test solutions by developing or participating in the development of test plans, ensuing test plans apply testing standards and testing according to test plans.
·    Participate in project teams as an effective team member and complete independent projects successfully and on time.
Requirements
·    Undergraduate degree in Computer Science specializing in software development.
·    2 years related experience in the following: Application of out-of-the-box SharePoint features, apps and functionality; SharePoint OM and Designer; Microsoft. NET technologies.
·    Competent in the use of Visio.
·    Competent in Perl, PHP, Javascript (in particular the jQuery library); HTML 5, xHTML, CSS, XML, XSLT, MySQL.
·    Must be detailed oriented, organized, methodical and must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
·    Proven analytical and problem solving abilities.
·    Flexibility in working hours including participation in occasional scheduled on-call after hours support and time shifting and participation in after-hours emergency response.
·    Ability to prioritize work, apply departmental standards, meet deadlines.
·    Ability to adapt to changes in a work environment and adapts easily to and welcomes technology changes.
·    Exercises initiative to independently learn new technologies.
