Function
Reporting to the International Student Advisor (ISA), the Cross Cultural Program Coordinator has two primary roles, the first of which is to develop and offer programs that will promote positive interaction between international and Canadian students. The second is to work with the ISA on the development, planning, promotion, collaboration and implementation of programs designed to support international student success.
Representative Responsibilities
• Develop and deliver new programs to promote interaction and increase the cross cultural awareness between Canadian and International students.
• Work with student volunteers and campus and community partners to arrange social and cultural events throughout the year for international and Canadian students.
• Promote international programs and events on campus and collaborate with the International Relations Office.
• Assist the ISA in the development and delivery of international student success programs, including International Student Orientation.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the ISA.
Requirements
• Minimum two years related experience plus a university degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Experience with event planning.
• Well-organized, able to plan and execute tasks and events while working in a cross cultural team environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
• Ability to work flexible hours; some evenings and weekend work will be required.
