Function
The Department of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering at the University of New Brunswick is looking for an individual for a three year term position as a Research Technician/Software Developer. The incumbent will work with Dr. Zhang on CRC research work and related research projects to develop user-friendly software tools for the research outcomes from the 3D image processing project and other projects.
Representative Responsibilities
• Primary resources used to develop the supporting software for online application and local processing.
• Create user-friendly software tools and systems that meet industry standards to facilitate the processing, visualization and online applications.
• Establish software development standard and introduce it to other researchers in the research lab.
• Collaborate with other researchers in the lab to facilitate software development and improve the development efficiency.
• Document software code in a professional fashion and write software user manuals that meet industry standard.
• Conduct any additional work delegated by the supervisor.
Requirements
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related areas with a strong software development experience.
• Industry experience and/or Master’s degree are a plus.
• Knowledge in C, C and Java programming is necessary.
• Knowledge in image processing and photogrammetry is desired.
