Function
Reporting to the Director of Client Services of ITS, the Enterprise Strategist – Mobility / Wireless provides enterprise wide leadership for the advancement of UNB’s mobile technology services and the supporting wireless infrastructure by advancing mobile and wireless strategies, developing the supporting architecture, and by defining and advancing service and product performance.
Representative Responsibilities
· Develop and advance mobility and wireless strategies and plans by keeping current with community needs; leading the development of service definitions, visions, directions and roadmaps; leading changes in services or technologies to meet evolving needs and sponsoring projects.
· Develop and advance UNB mobility and wireless architectures by keeping up-to-date with industry standards and best practices; developing UNB standards and best practices that align with industry standards; and by ensuring the development and maintenance of supporting documentation.
· Manage mobility and wireless services by defining service targets; developing and documenting efficient and effective processes; determining service performance metrics then ensuring performance targets are met; acting as the authority for service issues; monitoring and managing customer satisfaction and by ensuring appropriate collaboration with other teams and departments.
· Implement mobility and wireless products by researching and leading product selection and tools, developing product performance targets; determining performance metrics then ensuring performance targets are met; acting as the key escalation point for product issues; answering questions on product position and messaging; managing the supplier relationship, and by staying current with competitive options.
· Contribute to successful personal and team performance by being helpful and courteous; displaying a positive attitude and taking initiative; providing and seeking ideas; participating in departmental and university activities and positively representing ITS.
· Participate in project teams as an effective team member and complete individual projects successfully and on time.
Requirements
· Master’s Degree, in either Computer Science degree with an Information Technology focus or Electrical, Computer or Network Engineering. 8-10 years progressive experience in networking or software development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Ability to communicate effectively through writing or presentations to large and small audiences.
· Creative thinker and innovative problem solver that demonstrates initiative and is an expert in the use of mobile technologies.
· Flexibility in working hours including participation in occasional scheduled on-call after hours support and time shifting.
· Must be able to work independently or as part of a team and participate in after-hours emergency response if available.
