Function

Reporting to the Research & Stewardship Manager, the Campaign Research & Stewardship Officer is a member of the campaign team responsible for conducting extensive research, providing detailed donor profiles, and assisting with stewardship efforts and donor recognition activities for the campaign.
Representative Responsibilities
   Assist in the development of background information, donor profiles, written and oral reports and lists.
   Assist with donor prospect identification and qualification and donor pipeline enhancement by expanding and updating prospect and donor pools through database and external research.
   Assist in the maintenance of files including scanning, reviewing, clipping, copying and filing newsprint and media items relative to the on-going research process.
   Update database records and edit and enter contact reports.
   Produce in-house mailings to donors and prospective donors including gift acknowledgement letters, fund report and stewardship correspondence.
   Liaise with all other University department, faculties, and groups.
   Other duties as directed by the Research & Stewardship Manager.
Requirements
   A minimum of 2 years of experience in prospect/customer research and stewardship in a not-for-profit or post-secondary educational setting.
   An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience with development and/or advancement services, preferably in an academic environment.
   Excellent writing, editing and interpersonal communication skills are a priority.
   Demonstrated knowledge of a broad range of research techniques, including traditional text and periodical research, searching database and the Internet.
   The ability to organize and analyse information from a variety of sources and produce written reports, profiles, statistics and lists within tight time frames and shifting deadlines.
   High-level of accountability, sound and mature judgement in dealing with confidential and sensitive situations and information gathering.
   Ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite of products with the added ability to adapt to an ever-changing technical environment.
   The ability to work both independently and collaboratively to accomplish multiple activities concurrently.
   Familiarity with large advancement-based database would be an asset.
