Function

Reporting to the Manager, Pre-Award Services, Office of Research Services (ORS), the Research Awards Administrator triages the in-take, internal distribution and out-flow of research, intellectual property and knowledge transfer documents/agreements that flow through ORS.
Representative Responsibilities
   Compose and arrange for signature university service contracts, sub-grants and transfer for funds agreements initiated by UNB that are with other institutions, agencies, businesses, etc., ensuring compliance with the UNB and Tri-council policies as applicable.
   Manage the ORS funded research database (ROMEO).
   Lead the project to implement and manage a new financial module for the research database (eFIN).
   Provide training and support to ORS staff on the use of eFIN and ROMEO.
   Enter, update and maintain entries, including regulatory and control approvals.
   Update and maintain the VPR/ORS website; send out research notices through the Research Services listserve.
   Draft the VPR/ORS Annual Report, including the coordination of inputs from several internal and external contributors.
   Represent ORS on university committees commensurate with the duties and skill sets related to the position.
   Administer Request to Open Account Forms and Contract Authorization Forms for research accounts.
   Oversee collection and review of annual project reports for onward transmission to various funding agencies.
   Provide accurate data, information, and statistics and generate reports as required.
   Monitor the regulatory requirements of grants and contracts on both campuses.
   Liaise with regulatory boards and committees on both campuses.
   Perform other duties as might be required to assist with the operations of ORS.
Requirements
   Successful completion of a post-secondary certificate/degree from a recognized university.
   Demonstration of excellent written and verbal skills.
   Demonstration of the ability to function and problem solve independently.
   Experience reviewing documents for accuracy, format and content.
   Demonstration of an ability to deal tactfully with clientele.
   At least 8 to 10 years applicable experience.
   Familiarity with the university and/or private sector research and development environments is an asset.
   Familiarity with ROMEO is an asset.
   A significant level of computer literacy and demonstration of proficiency in electronic communication, preferably Microsoft.
   Demonstration of good working habits, organizational, analytical, written and verbal skills.
   Demonstration of an ability to multitask, to work in a team environment and under multiple conflicting deadlines with minimal supervision.
   Demonstration of attention to detail.
