Function

The Conservatory Coordinator serves the administrative and development functions of the UNB Conservatory (music) and the summer programming of the Centre for Musical Arts. The position maintains a qualified roster of music teachers in private lessons and group lessons in a variety of music learning activities. Coordination of summer activities includes summer camps for youth as well as specialized workshops.
 
The Conservatory Coordinator is situated within the Centre of Musical Arts and is accountable to the Director of Music for all functions related to courses, development, implementation and evaluation of conservatory offerings.
Representative Responsibilities
·    Act as first point of contact with learners, instructions, parents and community members.
·    Put in place, oversee and maintain administrative processes and procedures that follow CEL/UNB guidelines.
·    Maintain instructor records and manage financial paperwork for payment purposes.
·    Track and adhere to the budget of the conservatory.
·    Work with the Music Director to develop new Conservatory offerings, propose an annual calendar of activities; present plan results; and execute elements chosen by the Director.
·    Work with CEL Director of Marketing and Communications to market fall, winter & summer term Conservatory of Music offering through on-line and print advertising and in-person follow-up with music instructors.
·    Organize musical events including fall and winter solo end ensemble Conservatory concerts, summer, camp final concert and annual ensemble auditions.
·    Report the status of Conservatory affairs at regular intervals to the Music Director and seek feedback and direction.
Requirements
·    Post-secondary education, preferably in music, arts administration or a related field. University degree preferred.
·    1 – 3 years of experience in arts administration or similar role.
·    Computer skills (e.g. word processing, database management) preferably in Macintosh environment.
·    Entrepreneurial attitude with a desire to work independently and ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks concurrently.
·    Excellent interpersonal/organizational/communication skills; ability to develop/maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
·    Background in musical performance and/or instruction would be an asset. Marketing experience would be an asset.
