The Centre for Financial Studies is one of a small number of such centers established in Canada. As an integral part of the Faculty of Business Administration, its mandate is to build upon the excellent track record of the Student Investment Fund (SIF) course and to develop a broader range of programs and activities in financial services.

The Program Officer, reporting to the Dean, is accountable for the Centre, accountable for planning, organizing and direction, including participation based on activities of the Centre as envisaged broadly in the Faculty's Strategic Plan. Generate and maintain effective cash flow for the operations of the Centre is an integral aspect of the incumbent%u2019s accountability. All activities will take into account the broad input provided by the external Advisory Council

Representative Responsibilities
Assist in the development of and implementation of the new Master in Quantitative Management program (MQIM) and other industry, marketing, entrepreneurial programs.
Co-ordinate efforts to secure sponsors for the Centre for Financial Studies and for chaired professorship in Financial Services.
Ensure that program requirements for the SIF Program and the MQIM Program are being met.
Liaise with the Financial Services industry to secure a continuous stream of speakers for the SIF course.
Assist in marketing the SIF course, the majors, honors and concentration in Financial Services and the Centre.
Prepare annual report of the Centre for Financial Studies activities and operations.
Responsible for creating and coordinating student trips, competitive events for the Centre of Financial Studies, along with other events sponsored by the Centre for Financial Studies.
Responsible for corresponding with companies to create internship opportunities for students.
Assist with developing infrastructure such as space, database support etc.
Assist with the recruitment and marketing to students.
Priority will be given to individuals with a Master%u2019s degree in a related field or equivalent (for example: MBA). Other candidates with a combination of education and experience may be considered.
One to two years of Industry experience in the Financial Services industry would be considered a plus.
Excellent organizational skills, superior judgement, winning attitude, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent relationship building skills, team builder, goal and detail oriented.
Contacts in the business world or ability to build contacts that can be converted to sponsors.
Experience in organizing and managing events.
Experience in mentoring university students.
