Function

The Arts IT Support Officer reports to, and works closely with the Arts IT Support Coordinator to provide IT support to all Faculty of Arts members, and in particular, to the Department of Psychology. This includes responding to the IT needs of professors/researchers, staff, graduate and undergraduate RA and research students, and guests in the use of UNB-supported information and communication software and hardware technologies, as well as support for special projects, especially those of the Department of Psychology.

Representative Responsibilities
·    Provide technical support to the Faculty of Arts and ensure processes and procedures are aligned with UNB standards.
·    Act as a technical resource on various IT-related projects and initiatives.
·    Work closely with departmental representatives to ensure non-standard IT support needs are addressed.
·    Provide the Department Psychology and the Psychological Wellness Centre IT services for increasing needs.
·    Provide system setup, installation, configuration and maintenance, including but not limited to hardware, operating systems, and applications; troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, application and various IT equipment problems.
·    Respond to incidents, requests for service and support, and potentially coordinate resolution with ITS both with teaching and research activities.
·    Assist and advise in the re-designing of research space to accommodate emerging programs of research.
·    Design, develop, implement and maintain various programs and support existing software packages.
·    Administer SONA Participation system.
·    Design, program and modify existing experiments in EPrime software as well as other programming languages.
·    Set up, back up and maintain Checkbox Survey Website. Administer WebServer and applications.
·    Set up, back up, maintain and administer online booking software.
·    Assist in developing research servers and websites when required. Assist in interfacing various physiological devices.
·    Administer, configure and maintain hardware devices used for confidential experiments/interviews.
·    Ensure the technology in the classrooms and labs are installed and maintained.
·    Set up videotaping cameras for research. Maintain both hardware and software of existing IP and CCTV camera systems.
·    Identify general faculty issues; develop and then submit for approval, guidelines and procedures to address these issues.
·    Provide IT consultation and guidance in the renewal of equipment for professors, researchers and administrators.
·    Provide support and repair electronic and computer equipment (coordinate repairs when required.) Build/assemble research experiment equipment and provide recommendations on upgrades.
Requirements
·    Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with three years related technology experience.
·    Knowledge of Windows (IIS7 , SQL Server 2008 , Windows Server 2008-2016, ASP.NET) and Linux based hosting environment (Apache, MySQL, PHP).
·    Windows programming knowledge (VB, C , JAVA for development, Knowledge of HTML/CSS and Photoshop).
·    MCSE and knowledge of Apple IOS is considered and asset.
