Function

The Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity (CIC) is a comprehensive multidisciplinary training, research & development, and entrepreneurial unit that operates in close collaboration with researchers in the social sciences, business, computer science, engineering, law, and science, and other research Centres. Established in 2016, CIC serves as one of the very few institutes where the researchers and practitioners can come together in a collegial atmosphere to share innovative ideas and thoughts, and carry out multidisciplinary research and training. This position will involve advancing research in Cybersecurity and providing continuous support for ongoing research and development activities at CIC.
Representative Responsibilities
·Design, implement, support and evaluate Cybersecurity-focused software tools.
·Provide close supervision of Cybersecurity research and development activities within CIC.
·Write high-level technical specifications.
·Contribute to advanced development of the existing Cybersecurity technologies implemented at CIC.
·Execute test suites to verify results.
·Perform other duties within the CIC.
Requirements
·A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent discipline with knowledge of computer security, machine learning, and programming.
·1-2 years of experience in software development.
·Technical training in the field of security.
·Knowledge of networking technologies and tools.
·Good development skills.
·Good knowledge of Python, java, C or C programming languages.
·Ability to assume responsibility and to interface and communicate effectively with others.
·Other important skills and attributes include independence and initiative; organizational and logistics abilities and good communication skills.
