The University of New Brunswick, Faculty of Nursing invites applications from qualified individuals for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor on the Fredericton campus. Founded in 1785, UNB is one of the oldest public universities in North America. The Faculty of Nursing has satellite campuses in Moncton and Bathurst and a collaborative partnership for delivery of the BN program with Humber College in Toronto. The Faculty also has close relationships with the Department of Nursing and Health Sciences at UNB Saint John.
All UNB sites share a common curriculum based on principles of primary health care, caring and social justice. Foundational to the curriculum are five abilities that are considered essential to working successfully in a primary health care environment. Outcomes for theory and clinical courses are intentionally designed and leveled across the program to ensure that graduates have developed the five requisite abilities. The Master of Nursing program has three streams a thesis/research stream, a course based Nurse Educator stream and a Nurse Practitioner stream.
The Fredericton campus has a 4-year undergraduate and a 2-year accelerated option. The integrated nature of our curriculum means that we can consider a variety of areas of clinical and teaching expertise for this position. Those with expertise in maternal-child or gerontological nursing are particularly invited to apply. The position will involve undergraduate and, dependent on match between expertise and needs in the graduate programs, may also involve graduate teaching. Research and active participation in governance and decision-making within the
Faculty are also expectations.
