Faculty of Nursing: Tenure Track Instructor Appointments

The University of New Brunswick, Faculty of Nursing invites applications for two Tenure Track positions at the rank of Instructor: one at UNB Fredericton for the 4-year Bachelor of Nursing program and one at UNB Moncton in the 2-year Advanced Standing Bachelor of Nursing program. 
Applicants for the Fredericton Instructor position should anticipate classroom, clinical and laboratory teaching responsibilities with expertise required in the following practice areas:   acute care nursing, skills lab coordination and maintenance, and simulation scenario development.
Applicants for the Moncton Instructorposition should anticipate classroom, clinical and laboratory teaching responsibilities with clinical expertise required in one of the following practice areas: mental health, maternity or acute care nursing. May also be assigned to coordinate clinical courses.

Responsibilities also include membership and participation in governance and decision-making in standing committees of the Faculty.
Founded in 1785, UNB is one of the oldest public universities in North America. The Faculty of Nursing has satellite campuses in Moncton and a collaborative partnership for delivery of the BN program with Humber College in Toronto. 
All UNB sites share a common curriculum based on principles of primary health care, caring and social justice. Foundational to the curriculum are five abilities that are considered essential to working successfully in a primary health care environment. Outcomes for theory and clinical courses are intentionally designed and leveled across the program to ensure that graduates have developed the five requisite abilities. The Master of Nursing program has two streams a thesis/research stream and a Nurse Practitioner stream
Qualifications: A Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred with recent relevant classroom and clinical teaching experience.   Must be registered or eligible to obtain registration with the Nurse’s Association of New Brunswick and hold registration prior to appointment. Applicants may also be required to meet Horizon Health Network placement requirements which may include Criminal Record Check, Immunization requirements and completion of on-line orientation modules.
This position is subject to final budgetary approval. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2018. Only short-listed candidates will be contacted for an interview.
