FACULTY OF NURSING
TENURE TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
 
The University of New Brunswick, Faculty of Nursing invites applications from qualified individuals for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor on the Fredericton campus. The position involves classroom, clinical and laboratory teaching responsibilities in the undergraduate and graduate programs, and a program of research and service. We are interested in individuals who have a proven track record in research and teaching (classroom and clinical) excellence, with a clinical focus in a variety of practice areas.
 
Founded in 1785, UNB is one of the oldest public universities in North America. The Faculty of Nursing has satellite campuses in Moncton and a collaborative partnership for delivery of the BN program with Humber College in Toronto. 
                                             
All UNB sites share a common curriculum based on principles of primary health care, caring and social justice. Foundational to the curriculum are five abilities that are considered essential to working successfully in a primary health care environment. Outcomes for theory and clinical courses are intentionally designed and leveled across the program to ensure that graduates have developed the five requisite abilities. The Master of Nursing program has two streams a thesis/research stream and a Nurse Practitioner stream.
 
The Bachelor of Nursing degree has a 4-year undergraduate program and a 2-year advanced standing program. The integrated nature of our curriculum means that we can consider a variety of areas of clinical and teaching expertise for this position. The position will involve undergraduate and, dependent on match between expertise and needs in the graduate programs, may also involve graduate teaching. Research and active participation in governance and decision-making within the Faculty are also expectations.
 
Qualifications: The successful candidate must hold an earned PhD, one graduate degree must be in nursing, and be registered or eligible to obtain registration with the Nurse's Association of New Brunswick and obtain registration prior to appointment. A completed PhD is preferred however individuals who are close to completing a PhD are encouraged to inquire prior to submitting an application. A record of, or a potential for excellence in teaching and evidence of an established program of scholarship are assets.
