Emphasizes the elements of clear writing--stresses sentence structure, mechanics, and paragraphing. A service course meant to review the elements of clear, effective expression.
A study of the basic principles of clear prose writing, focusing on essay structure and organization, paragraph structure, sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, and word choice, as well as revising and proofreading. Students will submit numerous written assignments.
A graduate degree in English, preferably the PhD.
Preference in competition will be to persons holding Right of First Refusal in the course first.
