"The Interdisciplinary Studies (IDST) program at UNB in Fredericton provides an opportunity to do exciting cross-disciplinary studies. Interdisciplinary Studies offers a creative and innovative mode for addressing the complex social, scientific and intellectual problems of the world. It truly embodies the ideal of academic and intellectual freedom and allows for the creative exploration of problems that are traditionally dealt with along rigid disciplinary boundaries. I chose Interdisciplinary Studies for philosophic reasons regarding the freedom of the mind and the epistemological unity of knowledge. It was a hugely rewarding experience. "
