Key federal scholarships for students

The federal government provides scholarship funding for students in three core areas: Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, and Medical Sciences. Follow the links below for more information about funding from each:

Scholarship application deadlines are early in the fall term. 

New Brunswick provincial scholarship program

The New Brunswick Innovation Foundation (NBIF), with funding from the provincial government, offers Graduate Scholarships to masters and doctoral students. Scholarships range from $4,000 to $21,000 a year.

Internal UNB scholarships

Our financial aid offices in Fredericton and Saint John can help you understand your costs and identify different funding options, including New Brunswick student loans and Canada student loan programs.

Graduate student employment

Graduate students in a thesis-based program, or those studying in a course-based program on a full-time basis (ie., registered in 3 or more courses per term), may engage in additional employment for up to 10-hours per week.
