Note: Even if students defend by the end of the month, they must register for the term. Once they have completed by the deadline date, registration for that term will be removed by SGS. They will be eligible to graduate at Fall Convocation 2016.

September 2016

September 1: Last day to apply to graduate in order for your degree to be conferred at Fall Convocation 2016. Even if you do not plan to attend the ceremony, you must apply in order to be added to the graduation list. This is an intent to graduate pending on successful completion of degree requirements.

September 3: UNBF Residence open for new students

September 5: Labour Day - University Holiday – no classes*

September 6-7: Academic Programming and Orientation. Please see the Director of Graduate Studies in your department or faculty.

September 7: Residence open for continuing students

September 8: Start of classes for both campuses (not including Law and the 11-month B.Ed.)

September 16: MBASJ Module 5 ends. UNBF – Last day for adding Fall term and full-year courses. Fall term and full-year courses dropped up to and including this date not shown on academic record.

October 31: Last day to withdraw from Fall Term Courses without Academic Penalty, A Grade of “W” (withdrawn) will be shown on the academic record



November 2016

November 3: MBASJ Module 1 – Last day to add/drop courses without academic penalty. A grade of “W” (withdrawn) will be shown on the academic record. After this date a grade of WF (Withdraw Fail) will apply.

November 10: Fall Term Reading Day – no classes or tests/assignments scheduled

November 11: Remembrance Day – University Holiday – no classes*

November 22: Last day in Fall term to hold class tests.



December 2016

January 2017

March 2017

March 1: Deadline to apply to graduate at May Encaenia 2017 Even if you do not plan on attending the ceremony, you need to apply to be on the graduation list. Also, this is an intent pending on the successful completion of degree requirements

*Except for essential operations, most university offices will be closed on the dates indicated as “University Holiday”. Essential functions, for example, Security, Heating Plant and the Residences will be staffed and operational. Facilities Management will have staff on call should they be needed. A few departments and facilities such as the libraries, computer labs, Financial Services, Registrar’s Offices may offer some services on certain holidays. Those wishing to use such services on any holiday are advised to check with the specific department about operations for that day.
