Bring your URec experience to the next level

We offer locker and towel service, equipment rentals and complimentary orientations to help make your visit to URec the best it can be. 

Parking is available with a valid parking permit.

Lockers

Members have free access to day-use lockers both at the CURRIE CENTER and the LB Gym.

All day-use lockers are cleaned out at the end of the day. Members are advised not to leave their belongings in a day-use locker overnight. A $10 clean-out fee will be levied to the member if they wish to claim their belongings.

If you would like to leave your belongings are URec, you can rent a locker on a 1-month, 4-month or annual basis.

Towel service

Parking

Parking permits are required on campus from Monday – Friday between 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Parking permits for the Richard J CURRIE CENTER lot is available to our community members at a rate of $15/term or $40/year. These permits can be purchased at our membership services desk, located on the ground floor of the CURRIE CENTER.

Faculty, staff and students are required to purchase their parking permits through UNB Security & Traffic located in the basement of the Wu Conference Centre.

Please note that a parking permit does not guarantee a parking space. Parking is subject to availability. Please ensure that your permit is clearly displayed.

Equipment sign-out

Stop by the membership services desk to sign-out any of the following items:

  • Basketballs
  • Volleyballs
  • Soccer balls
  • Rugby balls
  • Footballs
  • Ball hockey equipment (including sticks, helmets, balls, goalie equipment)
  • Badminton rackets
  • Table tennis paddles
  • Agility ladders
  • Conditioning ropes
  • Boxing gloves

Interested in touring the Richard J. CURRIE CENTER? We would be happy to show you around. Stop by our membership services desk at a time that works for you.

Orientations

Our strength centre supervisors can provide you with a free orientation! They will show you how to safely and effectively use equipment.

Orientations are typically offered between 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. and take approximately an hour to complete. They can be general in nature or specific to the equipment you wish to use!

Examples of what can be covered in an orientation:

  • Use of cardio machines as well as strength machines for both the upper and lower body.
  • Education on how to use the free weight room equipment ex: racks, safety bars, straight bars versus curl bars, bands, and other exercise accessories.
  • A general overview may be provided on the following lifts: squat, deadlift, bench press and pull up.

Personal training and fitness testing

Personal training and fitness testing is based out of the Sun Life Financial Fitness Assessment Centre, located on the 3rd floor of the Richard J. CURRIE CENTER.
