Boxing  |  CORE-Operate  |  EXCEL  |  Dance  |  Yoga & Pilates

Boxing

Join boxing coach and personal trainer Crystal Fournier for this dynamic and high intensity class! Learn training approaches to various boxing techniques including punches and footwork. This class will have both technical skill development and physical conditioning components. No previous experience is necessary.

Winter session: Instructed by Crystal Fournier. Tuesdays, 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. | Jan. 9 - Mar. 20 (10 weeks) | Fees: $70 member; $85 non-member | *No class March 6 due to march break.



CORE-Operate

A progressive fitness program designed for those who wish to improve function, strength and tone of their core muscles. The CORE-Operate program will educate you on how to properly engage and train your core stabilizing muscles.

The program is suitable for those with chronic low back pain, repetitive sprain/strain injuries to the low back, or for those who wish to have a healthier, stronger core.

Winter session: Instructed by Alina Cress. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:45 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. | Jan. 9 - Mar. 26 (10 weeks) | Fees: $85 member; $100 non-member | No class March 6 & 8 due to March Break. 



EXCEL

EXCEL is a program that consists of aerobic (walking based) exercise, strength exercises and flexibility all conducted within a safe and motivating environment. The strength exercises will focus on improved functional strength and mobility with the use of callisthenic (body weight) and external load exercises, such as barbells and exercise bands.

The program is designed for adults that are beginning to be more active or adults who are already physically active.

Winter session: Instructed by Caitlin Doyle & Jordan Gauthier. Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5 p.m. – 6 p.m.  | Jan. 8 - Apr. 12 (13 weeks) | Fees: $160 member; $190 non-member | *No class February 19 due to Family Holiday. No class March 5, 6, & 8 due to March Break.



Dance Basics: Contemporary and Jazz 

Learn the fundamentals of Contemporary dance and Jazz in this program instructed by, and in support of, members of the UNB Dance Team! Each class will cover discipline-specific technique and choreography. Dancers will learn how to increase body awareness and will also learn how to emotionally connect movement to music. No previous dance experience is necessary!

Winter session: Instructed by Molly Dundas & the UNB Dance team | Sundays, 3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. | Jan. 14 - Mar. 18 (9 weeks) | Fees:  $76.50 member; $90 non-member

Latin Dance

Have you always wanted to be able to dance Latin style? Here's your chance! Spice up your Friday nights for ten weeks of rhythmical movement while learning three fundamental dances known worldwide: Merengue, Salsa and Bachata.

No previous dance experience is necessary – beginners are welcome! A partner is not required for this course.

Winter session: Instructed by Otto & Saba Morales | Fridays, 8 p.m. – 9 p.m. | Jan. 12 - Apr. 6 (10 weeks) | Fees: $85 member; $100 non-member | *No class on January 26 (instructors unavailable), March 9 (March Break) or March 30 (Good Friday).

Yoga for Power & Grace

Discover the power and grace this vinyasa flow can deliver. This class is inspired by the power of the Ashtanga system and includes complementary asanas to create an inspirational flow. Participants will feel deeply connected to both the mind and body by blending the balance of breath and continuous movement.

Leave behind your day and get grounded. Previous yoga experience is recommended.

Vinyasa Yoga

This Vinyasa Yoga flow class integrates breath with movement in a flowing sequence of yoga poses. Experience a beautiful intermix of yoga asanas and creative movements that vary from class to class. This program is open to beginners or those with yoga experience.

Total Barre Pilates

Total Barre is a fresh, fun and energetic class! This class will give you a full-body workout by incorporating elements of Pilates, cardio, dance, and strength training. Bonus: you’ll workout to upbeat, invigorating music!

No previous dance or Pilates experience is necessary.

Trim & Tone Pilates

This intermediate level mat Pilates class will trim and tone your waistline, hips and thighs! Expect a total body workout that varies from class to class. Beginners are always welcome – no previous Pilates experience is required.

Pilates Express

A modern Pilates class which mixes the top Pilates core movements with dynamic total body movements. This class will improve your core strength and balance and increase your overall mobility!

Pilates Flow

Control, power and precision describe this class! You will experience creative, challenging and fluid transitions from one exercise to the next while your muscles are constantly challenged. Get ready to feel every inch of your body, from every angle and every direction! Come and challenge your endurance and control in this streamlined workout and leave feeling powerful!
