The MMF is a central facility offering access to scanning (SEM), transmission (TEM), scanning-transmission (STEM) electron microscopes as well as a confocal and digital light microscopes on a pay-per-use basis. Researchers are encouraged to learn how to operate the instrumentation themselves, however, the MMF staff are available for those who require microscopy services with assistance.

Services available range from hourly rental of instruments to a full service of microscopy and analysis performed by the staff of the facility. Use of the equipment and instruments is by appointment on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Training is offered in SEM, TEM, X-ray analysis, EELS, electron diffraction, cryo-microscopy, confocal laser microscopy, digital imaging and numerous specialized sample preparation techniques.

The Fee Schedule is in effect for the period May 1, 2013 - April 30, 2014.
